For coins and precious metals, live gold and silver spot prices are factored in automatically. A confidence score tells you when to trust the estimate and when to seek a professional appraisal. Absolutely. Your vault is stored in an encrypted cloud database with row-level security — only you can access your items. We also offer CSV export so your data is always yours, and a Privacy Vault mode is coming soon for fully local, on-device storage.

For coins, TreasureTag prompts you to capture both the front (obverse) and back (reverse) so the AI can check both sides for dates, mint marks, and varieties. Trading cards also use front and back photos for the most accurate identification. Firearms support up to 6 photos including close-ups of receiver markings. More photos means better identification.

If confidence is low, TreasureTag will still show you what it found but may suppress the value estimate to avoid misleading you. For firearms and knives, an Assisted Identification feature lets you fill in details the AI couldn't read — like manufacturer, model, or caliber — and TreasureTag re-runs the valuation with your input.

Yes! The TreasureTag API offers two products: a Valuation API (send photos, get structured valuations) and a Vault API (OAuth-authenticated access to user vault data). Whether you're building a resale platform, insurance tool, or estate planning app, you can integrate TreasureTag's AI-powered valuations into your own product. Absolutely. After the AI fills in title, category, condition, and value, you can adjust anything before saving to your vault. Saved items can also be edited anytime — changes save automatically when you tap away from a field.
